Mr. Charles P. Evans Jr.

Charles P. Evans, Jr. “Charlie”, 65, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Thursday evening, August 18, 2022, at PruittHealth-Southwood, while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 14, 1957, he was a son of Charles P. Evans and Joan Lesieur Evans, of blessed memory. Also preceding him in death is a sister, Gladys Lacombe. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Christine Brandon; daughter, Tammy Vara; grandchildren, Brianna Brito, Chelsey Vara, Christina Vara and Brandon Vara; brothers, Raymond Evans (wife, Patti) and Kevin Evans (girlfriend, Barbara Griffin); nieces and nephew, Kevin Evans, Jr., Tiffany Monday, Shana Dupree and Eric Dupree; godchildren, Crystal Miller and Donnie Newborn; as well as many other extended family members and friends. He was a talented plumber who worked in the construction industry for over thirty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, football games, watching the History channel and old western movies, cooking and fine dining; but his greatest passion in life was spending quality time with his family whom he dearly loved and adored, especially his four grandchildren. He took great pride in his role as a loving dad and grandfather. Anyone who knew Charlie knew that he was the most loving companion, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle a family could ask for. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, love of laughter, big personality, gentle spirit, heart of gold and all the joy he brought to the lives of those who knew him. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30 PM, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Abbey Funeral Home, with the service beginning at 6:30 PM. The family of Charles P. Evans, Jr. would like to thank the wonderful staff and caretakers at Pruitt Healthcare and Big Bend Hospice. And a special thanks to nurse Omar Tejada, for the care and dedication to enrich not only Charlie's life but his family's as well during this difficult time.
