Mrs. Donna Kay Floyd

Donna Kay (Wolf) Floyd peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 24, 2023, after battling chronic illnesses for many years. Born on April 9, 1941, in Madison, Indiana, Donna Kay was the daughter of Robert and Mary Wolf. She spent her formative years in Freeport, Illinois. Following her education at Olivette Nazarene College, she pursued nursing at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, where she met a handsome young Air Force airman, Mike Floyd. They were married on June 29, 1961, and remained devoted to each other for 49 years until his untimely passing in 2010. After relocating to Tallahassee in 1969, Donna Kay and her late husband Mike embarked on a journey of ministry and entrepreneurship. Together, they established High Pointe Ministries, Wave 94.1 Christian Radio, the Wisdom for Winning TV program, and the Pearls of Wisdom Podcast. Their legacy also included the founding of Custom Advertising, Advertising Industries, and the enduring success of Altrua Global Solutions, now celebrating its 44th year of operation. Additionally, Donna Kay was a member of All Saints Anglican Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Donna Kay was known by her family and friends as a prayer warrior. Her and Mike’s compassionate ministry touched the lives of many individuals throughout the years. Together, she and Mike pursued mission trips to Peru, Russia, Ukraine, and Portugal, sharing the transformative love of Jesus Christ. Preceding her in death were her husband, Mike, and her parents, Robert and Mary Wolf. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Melode (Skip) Smelko; granddaughters, Isabel, and Abigale Smelko; sister, Rose Ann (Norman) Kuhlemeier; nephew, Kip Kuhlemeier; and nieces, Kathleen Tucker, Kris LaPress (Joe), and Kit Kuhlemeier, along with numerous other cherished family members and friends. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dear friends and caregivers who provided Donna Kay with unwavering support during her final years among us, including Zoe Lemon, Savannah Plyler, Jill Richter, Damien Cotes, Tiffany Zaniewski, Cindy Summerlin, Melinda Carroll, and Marianna Wilson and family. A gathering to honor Donna Kay's life will be held on May 31st, 2023, at Abbey Funeral Home, with visitation for family and friends from 11 AM to Noon, followed immediately by the service.
