Mary Ann Poettker

Mary Ann (Toeben) Poettker formerly of Breese, IL died at her home in Tallahassee, FL on October 17, 2024. She was born December 7, 1934, to Dorothy (Harder) and Benjamin Toeben. They proceeded her in death. She married James Henry Poettker January 21, 1956, in St. Dominic Church, Breese, IL. He proceeded her in death December 22, 2005. She is survived by her children: Yvonne Mikeworth of Tallahassee, FL, Deborah (Fletcher) Christian of Crawfordville, FL, James (Debbie) Poettker of Robinson, IL, Gerhard (Lysa) Poettker of Martinsville, IL, Patricia Poettker of Terre Haute, IN and Kenneth (Julie) Poettker of Winslow, IN; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; seven sisters, Ruth (Clarence) Price, Theresia (Ray)Herzing, Betsy (Myron) Mugele, Pat (Floyd) Sudholt, Jean (Ron) Gori and Kathy (John) Lloyd; one brother Ben (Joan) Toeben and one brother-in-Law, James (Judy) Haag and two sisters-in-laws, Lillian (Charles) Strube and Jane (Leroy) Kampwerth. She is preceded in death by one grandchild, Jerry Poettker (Colt and Crystal Poettker); one sister, Judy (James) Haag; one son-in-Law, Vaughn Mikeworth; one fiancé-in-law, John Shotts; eight deceased brothers-in-laws, Ray Hertzing, Clarence Price, Floyd Sudholt, Ralph (Pauline) Poettker, Marcellus (Rita) Poettker, Robert Poettker, Linus(Barbara) Poettker and Victor (Pauline) Gerling; nine deceased sisters-in-laws, Adel (Romanus)Reilmann, Ann (William)Stanley, Clara Mae (Ted) Thole, Barbara (Linus) Poettker, Lorena (Erwin)Rolves, Martha (Joe) Kleffnere, Lucille (Richard) Krebs, Rita (Marcellus) Poettker, Pauline Poettker-Gerling. Visitation will be at on November 2, 2024, from 9am – 11am with a Catholic Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. A reception will follow the internment. Funeral services will be held at St. Augustine Church, Breese IL with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11am. Interment in St. Dominic –St. Augustine Cemetery Breese, IL. Friends may call and family may visit from 9am – 11am, prior to the funeral at St. Augustine. A reception will follow the internment. In lieu of flowers, plants and other gifts, contributions may be made in the memory of Mary Ann Poettker to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
