Mr. Roger Eugene Brannon

Roger Eugene Brannon, 63, a resident of Tallahassee, Florida, entered eternal life peacefully on September 19, 2022. Roger was born in Panama City, Florida, on January 7, 1959, and attended Northwoods Church Tallahassee. He graduated from Cottondale High School in 1977; Chipola Junior College in 1984, with an Associate in Arts; Florida State University College of Arts and Sciences in 1986, with a B.A. in History; and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2005, with a Master of Divinity. Roger was an author and had many articles published in the daily devotional guide, “The Upper Room” and a book entitled “Dog Gone It!” He never let his blindness slow him down and had no fear of traveling alone. He had friends all over the country and even Canada. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Eugene “Gene” Brannon; mother, Georgia Dell Braxton Harris; maternal grandparents, Curtis R. Braxton and Maggie Mae Burch Braxton; paternal grandparents, Noah Brannon and Evelyn Barnes Brannon, and his beloved guide dog, Elko. Those left to cherish Roger’s memory, and have an occasional chuckle, include his sister, Patricia L. Brannon Christiansen; nephew, Adam M. Christiansen and wife Tiffany; niece, Alicia L. Christiansen; great-nephew, Brayden Wood; stepmother, Iris “Jean” Pitts Brannon; stepbrother, Michael W. Steed; stepsister, Theresa E. Flanagan and husband Mitch; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a multitude of friends and many fur babies. Funeral services will be held graveside at 1:00 P.M. Central Time, on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Sapp Church Cemetery, 2207 Sapp Road, Cottondale, Florida. Visitation will be held Friday evening, September 23, 2022, from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Eastern Time, at Abbey Funeral Home, 4037 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida. The family would like to thank everyone in Roger’s circle of friends for your friendship and kindness. The family would especially like to thank Carl Vinson. We can never express how truly thankful we are for your selflessness, care and advocacy you gave to Roger for so many years.
