Tennie "Tina" Jackson

Our Queen and mother, Church Mother Tennie Tina Jackson was born on January 13, 1936, to the late Willie and Larcene Robinson in Camilla, GA. She obtained her early education at Camilla High School. She accepted Christ at an early age in her life at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, GA. During her young life, she moved to Tallahassee, FL until the present time, where she was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Theoplis T. Jackson where she faithfully served 50 + years. Under the pastorage of Reverend, Dr. Roderick L. Robinson, Jr., she was appointed Church Mother. She served as an usher, President of the Golden Agers Ministry, and an active member of the Mother’s Board Ministry and the Treasurer of the Mother’s Board. She was an active Sunday School Scholar, attended prayer meeting and Bible Study, and a member of the Seasoned Saints. After 19 years at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, she retired, but she continued to volunteer with Elder Care Services and Big Bend Hospice with a combination of 25 years. She was a member of Capital City Garden Club for 22 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Sons and Daughters of Joshua Lodge. She received a Silver Star. She was preceded in death by her four brothers: Willie Robinson, David Robinson, Rufus Robinson, Roosevelt and her three sisters: Ruby Dawson (Willie), Willie Laura Cochran, and Lula Mae Ward (Lee), and her beloved son, Victor Roland McNeil, Sr. Tennie leaves to cherish her beautiful memories and legacy of love for her daughter, Runette Jackson-Turner (George) of Tallahassee, her son, Robert Desmond McNeil, Sr. (Earleita) of Newnan, GA., and one brother, James Mack Robinson of Camilla, GA. Her 10 grandchildren: Victor R. (Chaddrick) McNeil, Jr., Antonio M. Hinton, LaToya McNeil, Robert D. McNeil, Jr., Vental McNeil, Antwon C. McNeil, Sr., Vantawn McNeil, Sr., Jada McNeil, Taylor Williams, Damien Shabazz -McNeil, and Noah McNeil. She also leaves 15 great-grandchildren: Jaylen Ray, Johnnae Ray, Jayvion Ray, Kai’ree Gibson, Breanna McNeil, Vantawn McNeil, Jr., Va’Nyia McNeil, Chasity McNeil, Antwon McNeil, Jr., Amya McNeil, Kingston McNeil, Aynecielle McNeil, Tae’won McNeil, Karon Smith, and Aubree Smith; 2 great-great grandchildren: Alayah Smith, Hezekiah Flagler; a host of other relatives and loving friends.
