Ms. Ashley Kristine Carpenter
August 27, 1992 - April 8, 2022
Ashley Kristine Carpenter was born to Danny and Gayla Carpenter on a beautiful sunny August morning 1992. She came out screaming which later turned into the most beautiful singing voice imaginable. She honed her singing skills at Leon High School in the Choral Department and on the worship team at Evangel Church. She became a proud big sister 18-months later to a loud baby boy, Danny, Jr., whom she adored and called “Goo baby". Her love of animals started early with her favorite dog, Bud. Nine years ago she fell in love with her basset hound, Walter Matthau, whom she adored and spoiled. Their Halloween costumes became legendary each year. Three years ago, with her life long best friend, Jenna Mader Kirk, Ashley met the love of her life, Iain Kalich, and was preparing to begin their fun filled lives together, which included lots of nerdy stuff like gaming and a mutual love of anime. They got Walter Matthau a baby brother, Max the Australian Shepherd and Edward the beautiful black cat. She relocated to Lancaster, Ohio and began working with Bark Eats where she hoped to continue her education into Animal nutrition. She joined the worship team with The Tree Church in Lancaster and was beginning to flourish. Ashley will be remembered as a bright light who loved Disney World, and fast roller coasters with her Auntie Dana. On the night of April 8th, 2022 in the early morning hours, Ashley was lost to us in a car accident and our lives will never be the same. Ashley leaves behind her mother, Gayla Bussey, whom she literally stayed attached to every day of her life; her father, Danny Carpenter, who taught her the love of music and beautiful fireworks; and her baby brother DJ, who not only was her partner in crime but turned her onto anime. Additionally, she has left behind her favorite person, her maternal grandfather, Jim Bussey and her maternal grandmother Loyce Bussey. She was loved by her paternal grandparents, Gwynn Carpenter (Tallahassee) and Laura Ann Carpenter (Blountstown). She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved her very much. While we know she is singing in heaven and is safely with God, we will miss her bright, vibrant love while we are here. The family will receive visitation at Abbey Funeral Home, Sunday, April 17th, 2022, from 4 until 6pm, with her service Monday, April 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Transformation Church on Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Transformation Church Legacy Offering. Online condolences may be expressed at www.abbeyfh.com.
