Evelyn L. Daughtry, 96, of Sopchoppy, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at her residence, while surrounded by those she loved. Narny, as she was known to both family and friends, was a daughter of James Henry Thompson and Willie Devone Corley Thompson, of blessed memory. She was born in Franklin County, Florida on February 13, 1926, but was raised in Curtis Mill, Florida. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Daughtry; sister, Betty Devone Harrell; brothers, JW Thompson and Adam Thompson; sister-in-law, Ruby Thompson; and brothers-in-law, Fred Harrell and Elliott Duggar. She is survived by her children, Barbara Abraham (husband, Howard “Abe”), Judy Morehouse (husband, Otho “Buddy”) and Gary Daughtry; grandchildren, Mark Daughtry (wife, Amber), Carla Stone, Joseph Abraham (wife, Bethany), Jennifer Bollinger (husband, John) and Amy Williamson; 12 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-granchildren; siblings, Ruby Duggar, James Thompson (wife, Winola), Hasting Thompson, Glen Thompson (wife, Frances), Wendell Thompson (wife, Martha), Jewell Hirsch (husband, Fred); sister-in-law, Anne Thompson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She retired from the State of Florida as an Out of State Unemployment Claims Specialist. A faithful member at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Curtis Mill, she enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, cooking; but most importantly, she loved her family. Visitation is 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at First Pentecostal Church of Crawfordville, 5 Crescent Way, Crawfordville, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at West Sopchoppy Cemetery in Sopchoppy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Curtis Mill or First Pentecostal Church of Crawfordville.
