Mrs. Geri Norman Ruis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Geri Norman Ruis, 85, a longtime resident of Tallahassee, Florida, peacefully passed into God’s loving arms on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2022, while at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cairo, Georgia on February 1, 1937, she was a daughter of James R. Norman and Annie L. Smith Norman, of blessed memory. Her husband of 34 years, Donald Ray Ruis, also has preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Wendell Peacock (wife, Janet); her daughter, Cheryl Kane; grandchildren, Megan Peacock, Andrew Peacock, Justin Ralston and Dianna Kane; great-grandson, Cohen Newman; and a brother, James R. Norman. She retired from Leon County Schools as a bookkeeper and administrator. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and traveling. Above all, she was a dedicated Christian who loved serving the Lord and was a devoted member at Evangel Church. The visitation is from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Abbey Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Garden of Serenity. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Transformation Church, formerly known as Evangel Church or to Big Bend Hospice.
