Ms. Jimmie Lou Ard

Jimmie Lou Ard, 85, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Wednesday evening, August 25, 2021, at YourLife of Tallahassee. A daughter of Almon Nance Godwin and Bonceil Belcher Godwin, of blessed memory, she was born in Lockhart, Alabama on October 18, 1935. She is also preceded in death by brothers, McArthur Godwin, Otho L. Godwin; sister, Zylphialette Godwin; and brother-in-law, Fred Helton. A dedicated homemaker who deeply loved her family, she enjoyed bowling, gardening and working to keep her flower beds in pristine shape. She also thoroughly enjoyed shopping and listening to Gospel music. She is survived by her children, Jeff Ard (wife, Lisa), Robin Tola, John Ard (wife, Christina) and Eddie Lee Colson; grandchildren, Leslie Tola Hyatt, Christopher Tola, Brian Tola, Jeffrey Ard, Brandon Cervanka, Taylor Ard and Chase Ard; great-granchildren, Mackenzie Tola, Palmer Tola, Isabella Tola, Payton Tola and two more on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Faye Daffin (husband, Carl), Frankie Molnar, Shirah Brinson and Ginger Helton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 5:30 until 7:00 PM, Monday, August 30, 2021, at Abbey Funeral Home. The funeral is 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Abbey Funeral Home, with interment following at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
