Mrs. Margie Smith Clemons Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margie Smith Clemons, 94, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Clemons was predeceased by her parents, George and Alma Ward Smith; her son, Jack Douglas “Doug” Clemons, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Amy Clemons. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Jack Clemons; her daughters, Lynne Scarbrough (John) and Ann White (Denny); and her daughter-in-law, Martha Clemons. She had lived in Gadsden and Leon counties all her life, graduating from Havana High School in 1944. On December 18, 1947, she married Jack Douglas Clemons, who had served in the Navy. She began her career as a Secretary with Gulf Oil Company. She later went to work for the State of Florida as an Administrative Assistant, where she worked for several agencies, retiring from the Department of Administrative Hearings. Mrs. Clemons was affiliated with North Florida Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting others first. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking (and was a great one) and working in the yard. She was also a great seamstress. Her family was her top priority. She will be greatly missed by her family. A private service will be held. She will be laid to rest at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. At this time, the family is respectfully requesting no visitors.
