Susan Diane Greene, 64, of Tallahassee, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, November 15, 2020. Her husband of 45 years, David Monroe Greene, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Susan was born in England on December 6, 1955, to the late Dr. Thomas Joseph Fisher, Sr. and the late Carolyn Joan Wall Fisher, of blessed memory. David was born in Tallahassee, Florida, on September 29, 1954, to the late Berl Greene and the late Jewel Andrews Greene Mayo, of blessed memory. He is also preceded in death by brother, George Berl Greene. A graduate of Amos P. Godby High School, Susan loved to read and write letters to family, friends and pen pals. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays as well as holidays and special occasions with personal written notes from the heart. It was not unusual to receive personal notes to say “thank you” or “just thinking about you.” She loved music, horses and her dogs (many of which were rescue.) She had a green thumb and loved to share photos of her many flowers due to her passion for photography. She especially enjoyed getting and sharing pictures of her grandson, whom she truly adored. She liked fishing and was happy to catch a few fish or just be out in nature. Susan was artistic and loved to draw and even made a sculpture or two. She had the biggest heart of anyone and loved everyone fiercely. David enjoyed working on cars, especially Volkswagens, NASCAR racing and fishing. They are survived by their son, David Lawson Greene (wife, Stephanie); and grandson, Finnegan Oliver Greene. She is survived by her siblings, Dr. Thomas J. Fisher, Jr. (wife, Ann), Barbara Fisher and Nancy Fisher Hartmann. He is survived by his siblings, Tommy Greene (wife, Terry), Dennis Greene (wife, Dinah); sister-in-law, Cynthia Greene. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive both David and Susan. In a little book Susan kept close by were these highlighted quotes: “The most I can do for my friend is to simply be his friend” and “The only way to have a friend is to be one.” These thoughts epitomize Susan’s genuine caring heart and love for others whether it be buying and delivering groceries to friends or helping other less fortunate folks in other ways. When you think of Susan – SMILE – you can be assured she will be smiling back.
