Our hearts are heavy as we share the news that our beautiful mother, Patricia (Patty) Florence Betts, 90, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on July 16, 2026, after a short hospital stay. She is now with Jesus and reunited with her beloved husband of 60 years, Thomas Betts, Jr. Most remember Patty as a feisty, tiny, and shy woman with a huge heart who loved her family deeply. She was the epitome of a Domestic Goddess—our very own original DIY influencer. She had an incredible work ethic, a creative mind, and a talent for taking on any project that came her way. There was no home improvement task she wouldn’t tackle, from upholstery and tiling to wiring lights and installing ceiling fans. Patty’s greatest talents shined through her sewing. She kept up with styles and fashion, creating clothing for her children, family, and paying clients. Her skills went far beyond everyday attire—she made beautiful wedding dresses & veils and could quickly create the perfect outfit for any special occasion. Later in life, she filled the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love through her crocheted keepsakes, including baby blankets, booties, beanies, and lovies. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Patty lived there until her teenage years before moving to Miami, Florida, where she met the love of her life, Tommy, on a blind date. They married in Quincy, Florida on August 23, 1954, and together raised five children. She was our family’s small but mighty Momma, Grandma, Nana, and GG. We are so grateful for the countless memories filled with laughter, love, creativity, and silliness. Patty leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. Patty is survived by her 5 children, Monti Betts Brown (Ian), Tim Betts (Dee), Pat Betts, Susan Betts Davis (Emory), Matt Betts (Dana), 14 Grandchildren- Erin, Caitlin, Molly, Jason, Lily, Tommy, Brooks, Colson, Sean, Garth, Melissa, Kyle, Macayle and Sawyer, and 22 Great Grandchildren with 2 more blessings on the way. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is at peace and reunited with those who went before her. We will miss her dearly, but her love, strength, and the legacy she leaves behind will remain with us always. 🩵 A Life Well Lived.
