Ms. Sue Ellen Mandryk

Sue was born in Moultrie, Georgia, and lived there until 1959, moving to Tallahassee where she attended Leon High School and graduated in 1964. She worked for the State of Florida as a Statistician for many years. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones at home. Sue is a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was involved in many programs – she especially enjoyed working with the children at Vacation Bible School. She had many friends at Immanuel and never met a stranger – she was always looking for a new face to say hello to. One of her biggest pleasures was attending the Wednesday night service which was preceded by the various groups practicing their songs. Sue was known for being a giving person – she would give her last dollar to a homeless person and offer a gift she had received to someone else in a heartbeat! Sue was a volunteer at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare for seven years in the NICU Department prior to the Covid outbreak in 2020. She loved greeting family members and took immense pleasure in passing out the small Bibles provided by the Gideons and any religious material she could get her hands on. She enjoyed the staff also very much. Sue is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Dianne Miller (Jason), her granddaughter, Chelsea Wells, and great grandson, Aiden Crunk, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She comes from a large family of eight siblings and is survived by Shirley Stoudt, Lynell McDonald, Wanda Wilkes, Stephen Yarbrough (Marlene), sister-in-law June Yarbrough (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Mother, Rachel Geneva Yarbrough, her Father, James Morris Yarbrough, her siblings, Lois Howard, Inez House and James Morris Yarbrough, Jr. Abbey Funeral Home is in charge of the service, which will be held on Saturday, May 25th. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a chapel service starting at 11 a.m. There will be a short graveside service where Sue will be laid to rest in Tallahassee Memory Gardens immediately following the chapel service. Friends and family are welcome to join in a “Celebration of Sue’s Life” which will be held at the home of her sister Shirley Stoudt, 1813 Jean Avenue, Tallahassee, FL, also on Saturday, May 25th from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 or visit their website at: bigbendhospice.charityproud.org/Donate.
