Wallace Bodiford Jr.

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Wallace “Bubba” Lamar Bodiford Jr., 55 set sail on his heavenly adventure and joined the ultimate hunting camp. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, his devoted wife, Valerie, and his loyal dog, Jake. Bubba was born in Stuttgart Germany to Wallace Lamar Bodiford, Sr. and Brenda Givens Bodiford on April 15, 1970. Bubba returned to the United States when his father completed military service and spent most of his life in Tallahassee, Florida, where he lived a very full life. Bubba graduated from Godby High School, where he enjoyed playing baseball and was an excellent pitcher. After he graduated, he was very busy playing in an adult league baseball or softball whenever he could, surfing the beaches of Jacksonville and Cocca Beach, fishing anywhere he found water deep enough to fish or in the woods hunting, He did all of while building his career as an electrician, working for his family business, Bodiford Electric Inc. He later went on to work for Leon County’s Development Support, Environmental Management team as an Electrical Inspector. He lived life as an adventure and made countless friends along the way. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and general outdoorsman. Bubba is preceded in death by his Mother, Brenda Bodiford; his nephew, Jay Carman; his paternal grandparents, Lonzy and Dorothy Bodiford; his maternal grandparents, Sanford and Laura Givens Bubba is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Bodiford; his father, Wallace Bodiford Sr.; his Children, Brandon Bodiford and Justin Bodiford (mother-Jennie) and Sawyer Bodiford (mother- Kristy); his stepsons, Thomas Petrovick and Harrison Petrovick; his siblings, Rhonda Bodiford, Marsha Bodiford and Kevin Bodiford; his nieces and nephews, Kaelyn Massey, Jacob Massey and Lyndsey Massey and Shawn Bodiford; his many aunts and uncles; several great nieces and nephews and his loyal furry companion, Jake. Bubba was a good man and good friend. He would make you laugh with his famous one liners and he never said anything bad about anyone. He was always willing to help anyone. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer. He never let it control his life, rather he learned how to make it part of his life, so that he could live the best and fullest life possible. He was a great example of how to handle adversity. His celebration of life service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lloyd, Fl., 124 St. Louis Street, Monticello, Fl., on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bubba’s memory to a charity of your choice.
